The Altiport is one of the most beautiful parts of Méribel, but remains relatively unknown. A separate development set in the woods above the rest of the resort, this area is a tranquil haven ideal for those who want to get away from it all. The chalet style buildings open directly onto the beginner runs and there is fast access to more challenging skiing via high speed chairlifts. Winter walking paths and cross-country skiing trails also begin close by. In summer there is direct access onto Méribel’s 18 hole golf course and the starting point of some of the best walking trails in the valley.

The area offers beautiful views over the valley and remains in sunshine until late in the evening. The Altiport boasts its own lift pass office, ski school meeting point during school holidays, a mini-supermarket and sports shop. It is also home to two of Méribel’s best restaurant/bars: Le Blanchot and the Altiport Hotel. For those who are not interested in Méribel’s nightlife, this area is the perfect, peaceful and relaxing spot to stay.

However, for those who would like to enjoy all that the town centre has to offer, there is a regular, free bus service into Méribel.

This spacious first floor apartment, is bright, tastefully decorated and fully equipped including games and DVDs. Sleeping accommodation comprises a double bedroom with a king size bed and twin room (double bed and single bed) with en-suite shower. 

An underground parking space is included with the rental.

  • I would just like to thank you for all your help with organizing our apartment. As you know, this was our first time doing a self-catered apartment and we were understandably anxious. In the event, both the apartment and its beautiful location at Meribel Altiport surpassed all our expectations.

    The Altiport is a hidden treasure: peaceful and tranquil and off the beaten track with stunning views. As you said, it is mostly favoured by the French, which made it a bit more special as we were not inundated with English voices all the time! It also had its own particular ambience and character. The apartment was charming and cosy and extremely well equipped. Absolutely every little convenience was there: good utensils and pots, plentiful crockery, dishwasher, washing machine, oven, microwave, hair dryer and a great DVD collection although the DVD player needs to be replaced. This all made cooking and clearing up so easy. It was a real home from home. There was plenty of hot water and the beds were comfortable. The boot room and lockers downstairs were really handy and with the snowfall we had we were virtually ski-on, ski-off that week which was a bonus! The lift and slopes could be seen from the terrace which was light and spacious with spectacular views.

    So all in all, a great success and we were delighted with our holiday. We will be recommending you to friends and family and will also look at using AMS again for either and apartment or chalet in Meribel for forthcoming ski trips.
