Arrival Information
We hope you have had a pleasant journey. To help you make the best of your holiday, here is some information about your accommodation, the resort and departure procedures. Should you need any more help or have any questions, please contact the managing agents in Meribel Alpine Management Services (AMS) on +33 (0)4 86 68 88 72.
This is your holiday, and we hope you feel that the apartment is your home. However, to ensure that the apartment is kept in pristine condition for future clients, and in order for you to retain your deposit, we ask you to respect some basic house rules:
- Ski boots, board boots and outdoor footwear should be taken off at the front door, and ski equipment kept in the lockers.
- Please do not hang anything on electric radiators to dry. This is a fire risk and can damage the radiators.
- The apartment should be locked and secure when you are out. In the event of theft you almost certainly will not be covered by your insurance if the apartment was unlocked.
- Please notify the management company, AMS, immediately if you incur any breakage or damages. Please do not leave it until the end of your holiday.
Departure Day
Changeover days by their nature are hectic for everyone. It would be much appreciated if you could do the following:
- Rubbish bags should be disposed of and the apartment must be left tidy, as stated in the terms and conditions of your rental agreement.
- Strip the beds and leave all used linen in the bathroom.
- Please empty the fridge and dishwasher. If the dishwasher has not finished by the time you depart, please leave it running.
- The apartment must be vacated by 10:00 AM. If your departure is delayed for any reason, please inform AMS as soon as possible.
- Ensure that all windows and patio doors are closed and locked and please do not forget to lock the front door when you leave.
- Return all keys to the AMS office.
We thank you for complying with the above.

Parking
Most parking in Méribel is pay and display.
All, as far as we are aware, of the parking can be paid for at the machines near the parking or by easy park app.
There are underground paid car parks at the Rond-point, the Chaudanne and beneath the Orion apartments in Méribel and at the Hameau De Mottaret.
For details of parking and charges and to reserve a space in advance of your stay please visit: meribelparking.com
Parking Raffort is the only long term free parking in Meribel is situated below the centre of Méribel in Raffort.
When parking on the street, please do not block entrances or fire hydrants, and remember to leave enough room for snowploughs and buses. After heavy snowfall, the parking areas are cleared of snow (deneigement). Watch out for yellow snow clearing signs. They will display the time and date of the snow clearing and you must move your car beforehand.
Snow Chains
It is now compulsory to have carry and use as necessary, snow chains or snow tyres bewteen 1st November and 31st March.
These are available from all the garages as well as some of the supermarkets.
General Driving
The drink driving limits in France are tighter than those in the UK, so please be careful -- reserve a taxi or take the free bus. The police are equipped with speed cameras and give out on-the-spot fines; the size will depend on the speed at which you are caught. The speed limit in the villages is 50 kph and on the other roads in the valley 90 kph (60 mph).
If you intend to park your car and leave it for the week, it is advisable to leave the car in first gear and with the handbrake off, as the handbrakes have a habit of freezing. It is also worth trying to start your car the day before you leave -- the intense cold can do funny things to car electrics and fuel, as well as the handbrake.
Petrol Station
Located on the main road in Raffort, 1.5 km below Méribel in the direction of Les Allues and Moûtiers. It sells all types of fuel using a self-service card machine.

Tourist Publications and Resources
Even with the internet at your finger tips these publications can still be very useful.
- Bienvenue à Méribel: The Tourist Office publication contains detailed maps, listings of local commerces and telephone numbers, a bus timetable and general information about the resort. It is worth a quick look through to help familiarise yourself with the resort.
- Les Coups de Coeur / Highlights of the Week: The Tourist Office also produces this weekly leaflet during the winter and summer seasons. It provides the latest information about the current week's events.
- Méribel Unplugged: The unofficial biased guide to Méribel, from long term resident Rob Smart. It includes details of restaurants, bars, services, shops and events. Definitely worth a read.
Radio - 'R' Méribel (97.9 & 98.9 FM)
Weather forecasts, lift and piste information, news and a resort entertainment guide. This information is broadcast live in English from 7:50 AM to 9:15 AM, and 6:00 PM to 7:00 PM with regular bulletins throughout the day.
